3.2.3 Review your search tools
For any in-depth research topic, use a variety of search tools to ensure you get the broadest possible coverage of the literature.
If you have not found enough literature to support your ideas, try another search tool. See 2.4 Select an appropriate tool.
If you are looking for journal articles, ensure you search at least two or three different databases.
You can choose a database to suit your needs in several ways:
- Database subject guides - these allow you to choose your subject or area of study to find appropriate databases that have been suggested by your Faculty Librarian. See 2.4.2.1 Choose the right database for more information.
- Ask a Librarian - You can contact us in person, via telephone, and via e-mail. We will advise on appropriate search tools and assist with your research.
What criteria will you use to evaluate your information?
